Viewing Streams

Use WHEP, HLS, and embed links to share your stream.

WHEP (WebRTC playback)

Lowest latency playback. Works in browsers and VDO.Ninja. Unregistered is origin-restricted, while registered can optionally enable public embeds.

H.264 B-frames must be disabled

Meshcast WebRTC/WHEP playback requires H.264 with B-frames set to 0. An RTMP or SRT publisher can stay connected while the Viewer or Studio preview remains black or loading if the source sends B-frames. In OBS, set B-frames or Max B-frames to 0, or clear Use B-Frames, then stop and restart the stream.

HLS playback

Higher latency but broad compatibility (players, VRChat, smart TVs). Available on registered (free) and paid tiers.

Embed rules

Unregistered embeds are limited to meshcast.io and vdo.ninja. Registered is restricted by default, with an account setting to allow public embeds (billing profile required). No card is needed to create a registered account. Paid tiers embed anywhere by default.
